it's good to be back at school with everyone and quidditch and the wards of course i think everyone feels safer here even if their parents aren't pleased about it biddy's almost didn't let her come back because of the azkaban break and all they wanted to keep her close i reckon but she managed to talk some sense into them but they're still owling every few days and it doesn't look like they'll be stopping any time soon. biddy still won't try out for chaser which is bollocks because she's the only one who'd do katie justice if you ask me but i've got my eye on a few other students and i've yet to check on the first years you know there may be another prodigy among them like harry it's a long shot but oh well either way i don't think tryouts will be such a headache this year which is brilliant if you ask me because i could use the extra time to research the magical properties of various slug species. lovely.

things have calmed down a lot in the past couple of weeks which is good but we still can't talk about where we are and things like that because it's not safe yet and no one's told us when it will be if it will be but i hope so because i miss home and i'd like to go back there but they're still going through the things in the house and checking for curses or portkeys and everything and it's going to take a while they say but even so there's a chance we won't be able to go back home at all and i feel horrible but i keep thinking about all the silly little things i might not be able to see again like our clock or mum's lockhart books that she still hasn't thrown out and all of dad's plugs and everything. i much prefer my family over silly things but i still can't stop thinking about them all the same.

the ministry's just released a list of the prisoners that escaped i'm copying it down as i hear
guyllum avery, antonin dolohov, cutler garridan, darius jugson, walden macnair,
lucius malfoy
bernard mulciber, gareth nott, evan pritchard, augustus rookwood, alden wicks
i think that's all of them they're going to be sending out pictures of them later in the day to all wizard households
they're saying minister bones is going to give a speech later i'm going to wait and listen i guess it's selfish but now i'm really glad dad wasn't minister because then he'd be there making speeches instead of home with us i think mum really needs him right now and all of us really.

looks as if i've finally finished sleeping until well after noon and having dinner at ten and exam-related nightmares all the time you know i think my subconscious got tired of eggcups because now it's adopted jasper's hedgehog dream i'll be sure to blame him if i develop a phobia because of this. fred and george is that even in your big book of phobias or would i be the first??
biddy's already written to me to say she's spent the last two days trying to stand on her head for a full hour in the front lawn. i just really hope she's not wearing a skirt while she's at it. she also sent along some fancy foreign coffee ron you should have it with me there's plenty for two or three and you know for that matter who else'd like coffee i bet? i bet hermione would.
oh harry mum's already asking after you you know like ron said we'd really rather like some cake so you should visit. because there would be cake if you did. oh and we'd like to see you too of course.

you know most of the year i have to drag biddy out of bed but on going home day she's an "early riser" problem is she expects the rest of us to get up with her so i've been awake against my will since half six this morning but it's just as well because i wanted to help luna look for her things and maybe look for some of mine. they haven't been taken like hers well not the same sort of taken alice still has some hair clips i loaned her from when brandon greaves asked her to hogsmeade weekend with him and eve borrowed a few shirts of mine and helen has my book on famous chasers but then i also owe biddy her harpies scarf which i don't really want to give back i'm not going to keep it or anything but i really like it. i'm not hoping she'll forget about it just maybe she'll decide to give it to me since i've been borrowing it at the beginning of every year all year long for the last two years. but if she forgets it i'll remind her on the train or maybe wear it on and see if she notices.
i still a few things to pack but i'd rather spend the day saying goodbye to everyone there never seems to be enough time on the train.
oh and i nearly forgot congratulations to all the ravenclaws here on the network and really ravenclaw in general!

ron's right it's really no one's business at all especially since no one knows what really happened so there's no point in talking about it
i took my divination exam today it was okay i guess i was honest about not seeing anything in the crystal ball, and i think i messed up the tarot reading a whole lot and i think professor trelawney was going to mark me down because she was tutting and saying my aura was nowhere near the beyond because i was preoccupied with earthly worries or something like that so at the end of it i fainted on the way to the ladder and twitched around and screamed about the beginning of the end so i think it went well. yeah.

i went to see ron and hermione in mcgonagall's office and she wasn't going to let me in but ron came over and said it was okay and not to worry so much and focus on o.w.l.s and that sort of thing easy for him to say except it's probably not and biddy says they've stopped them looking for harry and i'm not sure if that's good or bad but i'm still really nervous and i wish people would tell us what's going on if only so people will shut up about harry losing his mind and running away to tibet to be a goat farmer which is just stupid even for a hogwarts rumour.

biddy says she just talked to kevin whitby who said he thinks he might've seen harry round seven this morning on his broomstick says he was wobbling a bit but kevin believes that story about the poison and assumed he was still fighting the effects
has anyone seen anyone on a broomstick this morning round that time?? biddy and douglas and i are still asking around but if anyone who's not taking an exam now sees this before i get to them could they leave me a note or come find me or something i'll have my natter with me just in case.

um i was just in the courtyard doing some more studying and biddy came over and said that she and douglas because they both take divination like me and don't have an exam now were pulled aside by professor dumbledore who said he needed their help finding a student who was unaccounted for and i don't think biddy was going to tell me but she's bad at secret keeping and she's supposed to be asking around anyway so i don't know why she wouldn't tell me but harry didn't turn up to transfiguration and i was just wondering if anyone here's seen him?? he was probably just still tired and went to bed or something but in case anyone's not taking an exam right now and has seen him could they say something so i could tell biddy please??

at the rate everyone's going we may as well take a vow of silence you know all the last minute studying i'm getting shushed at every turn biddy's invested in earplugs which i guess should insult me but it doesn't really because at least she isn't making hissing noises from behind her finger whoever said pointing was rude was likely never shushed i think that's a lot ruder. jasper said he thinks i talk too much when i'm nervous well at least i don't pull at my hair like him he's likely to go bald if he keeps it up he can even set the first world record first sixteen-year-old with a receding hairline the twit. biddy still says she's not nervous about o.w.l.s but that's bollocks she's chewed through all of her sugar quill and even a couple regular ones. i'm most nervous about the career advice thing i mean aren't you supposed to have an idea of what you want to do? maybe i should make something up i mean it'd be better than saying that i don't know i guess i could say i want to be a healer because i'm decent at it even though blood makes me really squeamish. i don't know how brilliant an auror i'd make i mean that'd be nice but i'm not sure i'm entirely up to scrap i don't really have any outstanding skills like anyone else biddy can go without sleep for days and walk on her hands and charm pillows to talk to you while you're trying to nap and make tea cups dance and things like that she's brilliant with charms and decent with defence she'd make a good curse breaker i think that's what she wants to do. she said we could do it together but i don't know really i'd hate to start doing something only to find out i'm really no good at it at all.
i guess i should just study like everyone else maybe i'll come across something i really like in a book or something. it's better than sitting round complaining anyway.

this is great this is really, REALLY great! ernie i know you are having a party but i'm not sure if it's just for hufflepuffs, but anyway if any hufflepuffs want they can come by the gryffindor commons because fred and george sent some good and safe (i think! i hope! they better have) sweets and things for us to give to the winning team!
if it's okay then just let us know and we'll bring everything over to the hufflepuff commons! congratulations you deserve it a lot don't listen to biddy!

ha HA! jasper and douglas and eve have switched their support to hufflepuff jasper says he likes underdogs but you know hufflepuff isn't really the underdog when they're tied with Ravenclaw and jasper said it was because they won against all odds and you know i told him that the odds weren't really against anyone because ravenclaw and hufflepuff both had a chance to win and they still do this saturday but then jasper said he was talking about harry potter's curse on them which just DAFT. you know no offence to any hufflepuffs that believe that but honestly that's just the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard and it sounds like making excuses is what it sounds like and people who think they're cursed are never going to win because they'll be so busy thinking negatively because they're convinced they're going to lose because of some stupid curse anyway and that's not taking responsibility for your actions at all it's making harry deal with them and that's not his job you know or anyone else's but the captain's and the team's.
biddy's helping me make a hufflepuff banner for the match (even though she said she's got more important things to worry about like o.w.l.s which is true but it's important to take breaks occasionally you know and the teachers have been less strict this week because of the match) and she's sort of messy with the paints but she's okay enough at it and better than me any day her badger looks sort of like a squirrel but she's great with the letters. jasper wanted to help, too, but he got more paint on him than on the banner so we sent him to the kitchens for some snacks instead.

this is really exciting both teams are flying brilliantly but hufflepuff just a little bit more i think i've nearly gone hoarse from screaming but that's all right hufflepuff's in the lead so the screaming is very necessary plus summerby's been brilliant today he hasn't gone for any of cho's feints and i really think they've got a really good shot especially since

everyone's still talking about the camping trip and it all sounds brilliant really i hope even if they change professors they keep this trip on the curriculum it seems like everyone's off slaying dragons except me but then biddy said the same thing so i guess i'm not the only one come to think of it so did jasper but he whines about everything so he doesn't count.
biddy asked me if i'm still going to be supporting hufflepuff this season and i am she says it's because i've got a grudge against ravenclaw which is really not true at all well okay a little bit but not enough that i wouldn't support them if i actually wanted to besides i still won the bet from the last game since i only said hufflepuff would score the most and they did so hah
is anyone else's natter singing?? because it was cute at first but now crookshanks is yowling along and giving my natter meaningful looks (which i didn't actually think a cat could do but well you'd think i would've known better since it is crookshanks and i reckon he's only mostly cat but not all cat since i don't know any plain cats who can play chess) and it's really just weird now.

well i caught professor mcgonagall after class to ask her about the camping trip and i guess she'd already got a lot of questions about it because she told me right off the bat that no, fifth years could not go and she couldn't make any exceptions and if i knew of anyone who was thinking of testing their luck they'd best just forget about it even if they're particularly accustomed to leaping head first into incredibly dangerous situations and then she gave me a LOOK and walked off. i still don't think it's fair at all but i reckon i won't be hiding in ron's cloak after all but maybe if i can negotiate colin's camera away from him ron can take it along and take pictures for me!!
and hey if dung professor fletcher's still around next year we'll get to go on the trip after all but you know i don't know if he's going to stay i mean cursed teaching position aside i'm not entirely sure his er unique teaching methods will be called upon again he doesn't exactly seem like the sort of bloke to stay in one place for long.
